    p.10 Sherbrooke - Three Rivers series opens this afternoon at 5.15. Three Rivers = ECAN champs.

1922-9-30 Thormahlen has left team in a hole - had assured local management he would be in Sherbrooke Wed. or Thur. but now says he cannot leave Boston due to work.
    "Tomorrow will probably be the last time the locals will be seen in action and ball fans are looking to seem them win the series and bring a successful season to a close by taking the Provincial champion- ship. Wildes, Kennison, White, Buckland and Hunt will all be leaving tomorrow night, while the Jenkins brothers will leave on Monday. Landry will stay here for a couple of weeks while Giboin is taking up permanent residence here.
It is unanimously admitted that the 1922 baseball team is the best, in every respect, that Sherbrooke has ever fielded and local fans are already hoping that the same nine will be on deck next season."

    "The conclusion of the game was the signal for unprecedented applause and even straw hats were mixed up with the hundreds of fedoras and caps which whirled threw the air. Giboin and White, credited with home runs, were the recipients of a number of hats as well as a dozen $20 photographs from the Sears Studio. It is understood a number of other prizes were offered for the best batting average in the series."
