New Jersey
1923-8-11 (Bridgewater) About high salaries. Many local players could play in the minors but won't because they would make less money. Excerpts from Newark article.
"Take the case of Tom Pindar, who pitched for the Newark Police a few years ago in the Semi-Pro League. His correct name is Cullerton, and under that cognomen he is drawing $500 a week from Kingston."
Joe Peploski is making $450 a week in a Philadelphia twilight league.
Jerry Kahn of East Orange is getting $350 a month to pitch twice a week. He couldn't get more than that for Waterbury in the EL.

Sherid has considerably strengthened the team. But the team was not meeting expenses, and Magnifico has sold the franchise to E.I. Vanderveer. Vanderveer has operated many good Freehold teams throughout the years. He didn't operate a team this year only because Magnifico had plans first.
Magnifico is employed in the Freehold Military school.
