    1916-6-25 p.59 Amateur baseball track & field meet was a success. The only fault was the attendance: too low. The Association's largest organization, the Sunday School League, did nothing to support the day. Box for game between picked teams. Standings for events. John Ferree was top athlete. Meet netted about $150 for the Association. 

    1915-9-06 Manager Lotshaw brought his Commercial League Merchants to the park but no Civic League Imperials awaited them; game forfeited. 
    1915-9-25 Champion Third Christian will face the Parfays, champions of Louisville, today at Federal Park. Admission is 25 cents.

1916-4-01 Team picture of the great 1892 Pilsner team. Had future MLB Stahl, Chick and future milb pitcher Gaffney, Ed. The team was organized in 1890. "Mr. Belger was one of the original baseball fans of Fort Wayne and spent hundreds of dollars to make his Pilsners the greatest team in the middle west." Belger passed away a few years ago.

    Will play Beloit Fairies, who have lots of ex-leaguers. "Rabbit Cerney was in the Central League until three years ago when he jumped organized baseball for the once famous 'million dollar' Sturgis nine."

1930-5-18 " 'Tiny' Simons will probably prove a bigger sensation than Big Dave Davenport, according to the 'Indiana Kid.' Weighing 240 pounds and standing six feet five inches in his stocking feet, the giant Texan has demonstrated to [South Bend Indians' manager] Koehler that he not only possess terrific speed, but a neat 'screw ball' and 'submarine delivery,' the latter patterned along the lines that Carl Mays worked in the American league for years."
1930-9-12 Ben Koehler's Indians will play Bob Guzinski's Jolly Athletics in duel for local supremacy. Jolly Athletics are dominating Ed Dickerson's tournament at Grand Rapids.
